An Insights Reader sent these sites via Contact and asked for my take on them. I do not claim to be an expert with social media but I will take a stab at it. Please weigh in with your thoughts.
The first coolsocial indicates to me that RMN has some legs in the social media. These are connections which see only part of the content on the actual RMN site, this shared by Readers who are probably happy with the site.
RMN provides a place for people, especially Newbys to talk about events which are already published on the web elsewhere with more insightful commentary and savvy readers. I would predict as more RMN Readers realize there are better sources they will depart unless they are at RMN for the faux sense of social contact.
Webwiki reflects the same lies told by Raye and her site for years. "Alternative News and Views, Reported by Agents Around the World, 24 hours a day." These are not agents, they are reposters working for free with the mistaken idea they are doing something significant and entirely ethical. Most do not understand authors are not thrilled when their content is reposted without attribution, which happens routinely, but not always, at RMN.
Raye does nothing to ensure the rules for publishing are followed as this could discourage the free labor.

I came across these two web pages.
Not sure what they are telling me, maybe you can figure them out? I'm curious but don't understand much of it. Thanks

StumbleUpon is essentially a link sharing site, same goes for Google plus. It is no different than hitting share on Facebook. Most likely it comes from Agents liking their own stuff, coupled with their circle of friends liking and sharing.
ReplyDeleteThese numbers are inflated for this reason. Also you can purchase packages rather cheaply to have random likes added to boost your rating.

Thanks, J~. Good to know. I'm kind of surprised you can get Likes by purchase. Seems like cheating to me. Blessings, Melinda
